DEPICT THE CENTER

The historical city center of Cosenza is one of the last Italian town centers to be in a

particular impasse, almost entirely abandoned but totally intact and not yet "cleared" and "gentrified".

This photography workshop about landscape and architecture intends to work on the interpration manners of urban abandonment trying not to lose the empathy with the places and their history, as well as working on their raw nature and their state of urban spaces in the making.

We will seek an investigative method and a proper way in giving a measure to the abandonment, seen not as the apocalypse of living, but as a necessary stop in the biological life cycle of the cities.

With the hope that the center of Cosenza in the future will not turn into an open-air shopping mall, we will start to illustrate it to pave the way for a conversion of its abandoned spaces in new opportunities and ways of living.
